Principal

Principal Kenneth Fritz

Welcome to South Mountain Middle School, where every student is encouraged to climb higher, dream bigger, and discover what they are truly capable of achieving. As principal, I believe middle school is one of the most important chapters in a child's life. It is a time when students are discovering who they are, building confidence, and developing the skills that will shape their future. My goal is to create a school where every student feels seen, valued, challenged, and inspired to become their very best. Just as importantly, I believe it is my responsibility to ignite a passion for learning and help students discover their interests as early as possible, because the earlier they find what excites and motivates them, the greater the opportunities they have to build a meaningful future. Whether you are new to our school or returning to the Mountain, know that You Belong Here at the Mountain.

I believe the strongest schools are built on meaningful relationships, high expectations, and a genuine belief that every child can succeed. When students know they are cared for, they are willing to take risks, embrace challenges, and grow from every experience. That philosophy guides every decision we make at South Mountain. We challenge every member of our learning community—students, staff, and families—to become the GOAT: the Greatest of All Time version of themselves. Becoming the GOAT isn't about being better than someone else; it's about striving each day to become a better version of yourself while discovering your passions, pursuing your purpose, and never settling for less than your potential.

It is an incredible privilege to serve as principal of South Mountain Middle School and to partner with our students, families, and dedicated staff. I am committed to being present, approachable, and invested in the success of every child because I know that education is strongest when schools and families work together. Every person who walks through our doors brings unique talents, perspectives, and strengths that strengthen our school community. As we continue our journey up the Mountain together, remember: We Get Better Together, and All of Our Strengths Are Needed. I look forward to climbing alongside you as we help every student reach new heights.
