Middle School PAL Basketball

The Police Athletic League (PAL) in cooperation with the Allentown School District will host the PAL after-school tutoring/basketball program. This program is for 6th Grade students ONLY.

Teacher/coaches at the participant’s respective schools will schedule practice that will occur two days a week. There will be tutoring help the first hour, followed by basketball practice the second hour ending at approximately 5:15 p.m.

A definitive schedule will be created and distributed after all participants have registered. Participants will be picked up at their school and transported to the game and back. Participants will be required to stay after their game for the trip back to the school unless other arrangements are made.

The parental permission and waiver form must be signed and returned in order for students to participate in the league. If you have any questions or are in need of any additional information, please call 610-437-7565 (Officer Knerr, PAL Office) or 484-765-4130 (Mr. Keith Falko) and we will try to assist interested students, parents and guardians. Information about the PAL program can be found on the Allentown Police Athletic League website: www.allentownpal.com.

PAL Basketball Rules - Grade 6

PAL Basketball at this age is about learning basic skills and having fun. What is not covered in the rules should be viewed in the spirit of good sportsmanship and the spirit of fair play. Rules are as follows:

  • 2 - 20 minute running halves – with stoppage during last 2 minutes of each half.
  • Each team must engage at half court
  • Each team must play man-to-man defense with one exception, i.e., the coach can elect to ‘press’ in the last 2 minutes of each half.
  • All other PIAA rules apply.
